The cause for 90% of the concrete damage found in most steel re-inforced concrete structures is corrosion at the rebar.
Active corrosion causes the steel to convert to rust thereby creating a dynamic force of up to 5,000 pounds of pressure per square inch (PSI) against the host slab.
This pressure will cause the concrete to crack, separate and ultimately spall (fall) away from the host slab.
Aruba Construction & Roofing, Inc. specializes in Concrete Preservation. The concrete industry as a whole has been involved with simply fixing the concrete wound. Very few contractors in our industry go the extra step to stop the corrosion which caused the problem in the first place.
